Enderly Park
Enderly Park is a historic neighborhood located in west Charlotte, about 5 minutes from Uptown Charlotte. The large neighborhood has around 1,500 homes and 3,500 residents that own and rent living spaces. Several profitable businesses and churches populate stretches of Tuckaseegee and Freedom Drives that run through the community. The Enderly Park Neighborhood Park is a spacious area that features a baseball field, tennis courts, basketball courts and a playground. The Bette Rae Thomas Recreation Center is also located in the neighborhood and it hosts a number of community focused events for residents.
CHARP Community Liaison Jabari Adams worked with the Enderly Park Neighborhood Association for two years from 2011-2012. He worked with residents to create a sustainable community garden space in the neighborhood, funded by a Crossroads Charlotte Front Porch Grant. The Greater Enderly Park Neighborhood Association conducted a number of food drives, book drives, neighborhood clean-ups, and community events during our partnership. Starting in 2014 Enderly Park residents began engaging in the Women’s Safety Audit process, a tool used worldwide to explore safety issues that affect women and children and seek to address those issues.
